Community Facilities

Program Objective

UnitingCare Harrison manages 10 Community Facilities located mostly in the Inner Eastern Region of Melbourne which are available for tenant use, public tenant groups and community groups. The Community Facilities Support Worker supports tenants residing on older person estates and provides support to people whilst also working on increasing utilisation of the facilities and active participation from tenants.

Philosophy

To encourage tenants to connect with the community through participation in tenant meetings and organised activities.

Catchment Area:

Facilities are located in Ashburton, Blackburn South, Burwood, Oakleigh, Hawthorn, Hughesdale, Ferntree Gully, Wantirna and Wantirna South.

Time/Days of Operation

As required.

Activities/Services of the Program

Recreational outings, Guest speakers, Tenant meetings, Housing Week activities and Victoria in Bloom garden competition.
