Support for Families at Risk of Homelessness
Program Objective
The aim of the Support for Families at Risk of Homelessness Program (SFARH) is to provide interim family-orientated case management support to families and children in short and medium term accommodation.
UnitingCare Harrison seeks to prioritise families who are currently residing in sub-standard private rooming houses.
Our goal is to help families to successfully access, establish and maintain a public or social housing tenancy, or private rental accommodation. This program also helps families to access suitable supports that will prevent them from re-entering the homelessness service system.
The innovative Support for Families at Risk of Homelessness program aims to:
- Reduce the impact of homelessness on families and children;
- Decrease the number of families being evicted from Public Housing, Aboriginal Housing Board, community Housing and private rental accommodation;
- Prevent families from re-entering the Homelessness Service System.
