This three year partnership between UnitingCare Harrison and Sustainability Victoria supported older people in independent living communities to respond safely to sustainability challenges.

The project worked with the following independent living communities to develop community action plans:

- Burwood Heights in Burwood East
- Chapel Court in Moorabbin
- Cornwall in Prahran
- Crawford Court in South Melbourne
- Gardiner Lodge in Glen Iris
- Kirkside in Ormond
- Wesley Court in Ivanhoe (in a limited way due to proposed site changes)
- Wesley Grange in Sandringham
Uniting Church properties managed by local UnitingCare agencies
- Daniel Gunson Memorial Homes in Bruthen
- Hazelmere Homes in Horsham
- Heatherlie Homes in Warrnambool
- Mundarlo Units in Wangaratta
- Sweetman Court in Rupanyup
- Wangarratta Wesley Homes in Wangarratta
Independently managed by a committee of management
- Tarrangower in Maldon
These plans looked at a range of issues, depending on resident areas of interest:
- education/information about sustainability issues
- community gardens
- composting
- insulation
- mulch
- recycling
- re-using
- shading
- wastage
- water and rainwater tanks
- sustainability information exchanges between participating retirement villages.
