Key Worker
Program Objective
UnitingCare Harrison developed the Key Worker program to ensure that young people who present at a Front Door are supported from the initial point of contact until accommodation is secured. The role of the Key Worker is to support the young person and oversee the service coordination and their journey through the homelessness system.
Young people can present with multiple issues, have a history with a number of services and can often have little trust in the system. It is important for a young person to have the consistency of a Key Worker as they move through the Homelessness system to provide trust and stability. The Key Worker is responsible for supporting and advocating the young person and coordinating the services a young person needs to achieve their goals.
